I have a house on pilings and I have my banding beam on the pilings. When I always go to put my joists in they want to snap to the beam instead of having a slight cantilever over the beam. Is there any way to adjust the join tolerance on the joists? My beam is 5 inches in from the outside face of the first floor and always snaps back to the inside of the beam which just looks wrong.

Brian under the tools tab click on the "Reduce Join Tolerance " tool then use it where the beams rest on the pilings.

You can also reduce manualy by editing and going to the Join Tolerance towards bottom of the edit window

I already have the join tolerance for the beams down to 1 inch but it still snaps the joists to the beam. I am not sure that the join tolerance applies to the joist sets.

Brian have you unchecked "Clean-Up", I'm  not in Softplan right now but I think there is this option in the joist edit menu ?

I just tried turning off Clean Up for the joist set but it still wants to snap to the beam. I turned off Clean Up for the beam as well but no luck.
