I'm having a problem saving my final view using the Output Options. I know how to save them but when I do the "view" backs up about 10 feet on me. This then causes the background image and items in the foreground to change. My origonal camera view cuts off at the bottom of the plants in the foreground and there's only a little bit of the mountains showing over the roof. I guess I could move my view ahead until it was right but I don't think I should have to do something like that just to get the view I'm looking at. I can't find anywhere in the output options where you can change the camers settings...incline,view field, etc. That's what seems to be changing for some reason. Any suggestions?

My guess is that the SoftView aspect ratio on your screen doesn't match the aspect ratio on you "Output to File " dialog box. You could always crop your image in an image editor to get your desired  view.

Yah, I wouldn't have a problem doing that but my background moves around too. So what I would have to do is set up the view I see on my screen way differently and just keep moving things and outputing still images until I get it right? Wow, what a PIA that's going to be.

If you do  a "Save As" of your SoftView , it will save the image as it is on your screen. If you need a larger (higher resolution) image, go ahead and do a "Save As" to create a test image. Now go into Windows Explorer, find the file, right click on it, go to "Properties" and then "Details" and find out what the pixel count is for the height and width. This is your aspect ratio. Now do your "Output to File" and be sure that your "Image Size" in the dialog box  has the same ratio as the pixels in your test image. You'll still need to crop your image afterwards, but you shouldn't have to worry about your background shifting.

Assuming you're wanting a jpeg image, .. rather than using 'Output to File', ..

Position your view to your desired result on screen, .. use Save As, .. then choose the jpeg file type, .. crop the image in any paint editor.

.. invariably, someone will have a simpler solution.

Thank you...thank you...thank you!!! That worked great. I don't even have to crop it. It saves just as I see it on my screen. MUCH appreciated.

hmm... thinking you could paste the background image on a big billboard... then the positioning would be fixed, and not reliant on "background" positioning...

might be some tricky aspects of lighting and such, but perhaps worth a shot...
