Publishing from a SoftPlan 3D tab (using File>SoftPlan+> then either Google Earth or Lumion file) is super easy. The resulting file can be uploaded into Sketchfab directly and can be viewed online. It really looks great on a phone or iPad. No editing at all. In other words this entire workflow takes about 15 seconds (other than about 5 minutes after you’re done waiting for SkechFab to do it’s thing).
Here it is embedded into an html frame:

Correct, it is a SoftPlan model. It is a direct export from Softplan from within the 3D Tab, choosing the Lumion.fbx file type that SoftPlan lets you export to. This fbx file is pulled into Sketchfab directly. There are no changes needed, and it gets rid of all the weird polygon lines and smooths everything just like you see it. All textures are from SoftPlan, though the slate roof and stone are textures we added to our SoftPlan texture library before. It looks exactly the same in Sketchfab as in SoftPlan.

I have the $9/month version which is no more capable than the free one as far as I know. It just lets you upload 10 models a month instead of one. Since I did a few more models I am now paying for the $9/month option.
The base is simply a SoftPlan solid cube some large distance like 400'x300' and an inch thick, placed on the foundation plan about a foot lower than top of foundation. The cube has a jpg texture on it of a landscape architects sketch. By making the texture scale to the shape, then adjusting the width you get a quick plane to work with and people love to see it on the model. It works well even though not contoured.
I'm thinking about doing a 45 minute webinar in June on the process if anyone's interested.
