I am curious as to how everyone handles their custom tile showers so that they work correctly in plan & 3D views.  Being very new I'm seeing several different ways to do it but could use some input please. If willing,  sample images would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Jerry

Edit the wall covering polyline in the "interior" mode so that the tiled and painted walls have their own finishes. This would work for just about any type of custom shower.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I understand Interior mode is but I do not understand what you mean when you say "Edit the wall covering polyline". Also Martin, how did you get the hardware on the shower glass please? And is the glass a wall type or something else?

Thank you,

Jerry

Go to INTERIOR Mode. DRAW > WALLCOVERING, and draw the wallcovering (a polyline) over the wall behind the shower. Then edit then in the 3D edit the texture of the wallcovering to a suitable tile.

I suspect that Martin's shower cubicle is a sketchup (or similar) download - Martin has found a few sources for 3D models.

I have created a wall called glass, which is (go figure) semi - transparent, and then add a door from OPENINGS > INTERIOR DOOR > SHOWER to suit in that wall.

The sketchup method allows for more hardware etc., but the wall/door combo allows for more flexibility. You cam always make (and save as a symbol) some hardware from solids with a chrome texture, and use them repeatedly.

Martin,
