Softlist is a wild thing. Thought I'd ask a few question, maybe the pro from dover, or yea maine will comment

I'm a little old, so tend to forget about 1/2 of what I learn.

Today's question is on getting rid of individual cabinets, from what I call my "2018 Configuration", which is what I basically use to price a house.

I thought I knew how to get rid of the individual cabinets listing, but didn't. So I went to system options. Also i do softlist on the system level, not project level, not sure of the logic against that.

Anyway I went to system options and double clicked on "Softlist Report Configuration" and then double clicked options, i realize there's another way to get there. it is the drop down ribbon when your on an open softlist report.

and unchecked Options-Report libray options, and it took all library items off the report

And i see while I'm there i will uncheck Hide Empty Groups, so as not to miss stuff

I'm realizing probably By unchecking symbol from my 2018 configuration, will turn off some symbols i might want, and by unchecking hide empty groups, I got too much blank categories

SO, I think I can go to layout and delete Cabinets, and I don't want electrical detail on this 2018 report configuration, since i price electric by SF or bid. So I deleted electrical from the layout.

I have it now.

I'm wondering if by using softlist on the system level, if it will try to update changes to a list on the project level,in another project, if i regenerate. I think it won't.

I think having softlist on the system level lets me updated pricing as i go, especially right now seems to be a movement upward on pricing.
