Hey, i am having problems with doing a double hip roof. I have tried everything from moving the lollipops to different positions an nothing seems to work, The roof line itself is showing correct. The metal roof is going way up in the air for some reason I've searched and cant seem to find an answer. I've attached pictures below to show the issue I'm having. If I change it from a double hip back a single hip it goes back to normal and the metal roof lays flat as it suppose too. I am very frustrated and have been trying to solve the issue for 2days now and cant seem to figure it out. Any help would be much a appreciated. Thanks

draw the covered porch as a shed roof separate from the other and don't use a double hip

I agree with Sam, that would be the easiest fix and is how I usually draw it. It looks like the back left roof and the back right roof are not planing exactly right. Hence the line from the lower ridge to the upper ridge.

Edit the edge circled and turn on "Dominant" for that edge. If Dominant is greyed out then first increase the Distance for the porch roof until the upper portion of the double hip is lower than the circled roof plane then edit the circled roof plane and change to Dominant.

So I revisited this roof and determined that Dominant would not work in your particular situation. For Dominant to work there can be only a single valley before the ridge. Your design has a double valley. If the pitch over the porch were steeper then it would work. Perhaps in the future SoftPlan can make dominant work in both situations.
