Anyone else having issues with many of the commands in the tools menu?  After performing a trim, extend, etc...many times you have to right click multiple times to release the command and move on to something else.  Definitely different compared to previous versions and a MAJOR slowdown to my productivity

I thought it was me or my settings. I have to click on some tools several times to get them to work, then click several times to get to the next thing.

Mark....exactly!!!  Its incredibly annoying.  I'd rather have basic commands that work properly than expanded libraries of throw rugs that I will never use!

This is new behaviour in 2022 for trim, filet, extend etc.

Rather than ending after the operation it assumes that you want to stay in that command.

Just hit Esc or another keyboard operation command and it will disconnect.

I have gotten into the habit of hitting escape a lot. But, I do find it does not always select the command I've hovered over and clicked on and I keep having to go back and make sure it highlights after trying to draw something.

its terrible I know.  they shouldn't change the behavior of the super fast basic cad commands.  not sure their thinking.

welcome to 2022 Sam.

wait till you start using the extension command on small objects!!!

I waited months to upgrade thinking patches would have taken care of issues by now but it appears I was wrong.  Regretting the decision to upgrade when I did.  The only reason I did was for the corner face sliding door that a current client wants.  2020 still had some bugs that were never fixed, but I'd take those now over some of the stuff going on with 2022

Sam,

It is way better than it was in the beginning. I still am glad I switched over.

Speaking of management NOT addressing ticket suggestions.  Here's a problem i asked about more then once back in V2020:  Raised short walls still NOT showing drywall on the below face.  I'm still using a bandade fix of a special wall type with Drywall below added manually in my definition.

Should be a simple fix:  'wall gets shorter.....drywall gets added'

I fear difficult tickets being submitted and forwarded on to programming are being forgotten.

Sam,  case in point here.  The library of Midland overhead doors just added that i'll never use don't work properly....the top of the door is above the top of the opening on ALL of them.  Basically adding them was a waste to the library of excessive stuff.

Can someone please verify this.....hopefully I'm wrong!

Nope...you're not wrong.  Just tried that exact door and I get the same results as you.

It does baffle me at what gets added without regard for the quality or use to the designer. Maybe it is a regional thing, but many of those library items are silly. And, the fact that nothing in the libraries where panels/borders/trim matter are parametric. They stretch oddly in most cases. But, there are still many perks to the latest version over the previous. Just wish they'd get rid of the useless fluff and add the things that matter and would boost them ahead of the competition.

Think I speak for many, we're slammed with drawings and can't afford time spent tweaking symbols, openings or finding crazy chairs and rugs or submitting tickets for problems all day long.

I'd gladly forgo a bi-yearly update to have the program totally cleaned up and cleaned out.

This post times a million. Softplan please take note.

Based on your post Sam, I’m still going to wait to upgrade. I have over 30 I’m doing at one time. No time for tickets and stupid nonsense stuff.

Misery loves company in this case as I thought the problems with "clicking" on a function over and over then clearing the function and then finally coming back to use the function that you wanted to use in the first place was with me or my machine.

I am biased, and not a graphics designer (not that is anything wrong with that) so a clear out of the candle sticks and lamp shades might not be bad in my mind.  Too much fancy stuff and not enough attention to the bones.

The extension command on small objects as Joe mentioned is enough to make you go berserk.  How do you send in a ticket on that?

Why should we HAVE to do this?  This is new behavior that I've never seen in softplan in over 15 years of use.
