Having upgraded from 2014 to 2022 and not seeing much of a difference in the 3D rendering output.

Can anyone attest to using a DX12 video card (16, 20, 30 series rtx cards)? Is there an improvement visually?

Looking at upgrading from my GTX 980ti perhaps. hefty upgrade with the price these days and wondering if worth it!

Thanks again for all the feed back.

I find i use the Direct x11 and the direct x12 back and forth

I really don't use Path tracing as it doesn't work for me like I want,

I mainly do 3D videos to an outside program, to send the link to the customer like the one attached.

I'm thinking if and when i do single still shots, the Path tracing is good..

The link above is what mine look like, I don't spend a lot of time on them, but it gives me and the customer a good look,

I draw in 3d a lot, as it is easier sometimes and faster.

I have 2 nice graphic cards,  Nividia Quadro RTX 4000. builds super fast.

Using Alienware Aurora R11 with RTX3080 with V2022.  The output style is very similar raytraced and other modes speed is faster could be new machine, GPU or V2022.  All things considered i'd keep your GTX980ti until supply returns or prices come down.  Game changer will be the future release that has a brand new render engine, i'm sure development of that comes with a hefty price.

Yeah I hear ya! IMO not much of a leap from 2014 to 2022. Basically the font change and a few added misc features.

Still not much support for changing the floating window sizes and drawing bars to accommodate a 32 inch 4k monitor resolution.

Windows are super tiny and interface much too small at max resolution. 3480 x 2160

I love the path tracing... renders almost instantly.

Dean, you will fix that in your Windows settings.
