Wondering if this is possible and someone has figured it out before me.  

 

With the new Web3D option that came in the recent patch, is there a way to have it export in raytraced mode so its better quality and also have auto horizon show?  All of my models I've tested are just floating in the air.  I'm thinking to use this feature with publishers selling my stock plans if we can get it in a high enough quality that its useful to them.  I think custom home clients will love it as we are working through the design process.

There is currently no auto-horizon in web3d.   You can add a site plan to get the concept of ground.   There is no way to export a raytraced model.  The initial image displayed will show whatever image you have on your screen however the resulting model will be rendered using a web3d technology and auto-lighting that works on most devices.  Most devices do not have the ability to navigate a raytraced model anywhere near real-time.

I'm curious if there is a reason you published a link to a youtube video rather than sharing the web3d link to your model?

The a link to the model would allow viewers to navigate it freely online rather than watching your pre-canned movements of the video.

Because I don't know where to go to get the web3D link.

On your start page if you right click on the project you can select "Get web3d Link".  From there you can select "copy" to copy the link into your clipboard.

You can also select view to view the model in your browser.  Copying and pasting the address from your browser location bar is the same as using the "Copy Command"

 

Once you have the link in your clipboard you should be able to paste it into your post.

 

Note that you have the same options for copying and viewing when you initially publish the model.

That's too bad but I do understand there will be limitations.  I sent a sample out to all the publishers I work with and so far most of them have responded back that its neat but the quality isn't enough that they want to put on their websites.  I'm sure I'll use with my local clients....was hoping this could give me an edge with our online plan sales.

Not sure if anyone else on here remembers the time carpenters furnished ALL of their tools....pre power tool days...I can remember having several dozen saws brought to the jobsite trailer office for pickup to be sharpened and the variety of saws was truly amazing, my point is simple: Not every saw was JUST right for every situation ....and thus NOT every software program is JUST perfect for every situation....SoftPlan is far superior to many drafting programs, yet in certain task it lacks JUST that extra feature etc to complete the one task better ....so, my thought is simple....have more than one SAW in your tool box as not every client likes to see the same tpye of CUT....
