Couldn't agree more!
Furniture, I don't mind ... Take a national furmiture retailer and do some sofa's and chairs, a few coffee tables and a couple of standard type beds.... No problem.
The niche market furniture is ABSOLUTELY USELESS to me. Less than 1% of my customers would want that stuff. It's NOT representative of what "my" customers are going to furnish their homes with.
Especially if they are using my extra $10/month to justify producing it!

Chris,
Save the symbol to your symbol folder of choice. Then save the 3DS to the 3D symbol folder of your choice. Go into the symbol library (system level) and edit the symbol to reference the newly saved 3DS file.
That's where using SketchUp for symbols is a huge bonus to SoftPlan. Wish we could more easily model all we want in SP, but for now this works faster.
The old box furniture and most of the newer libraries really don't get much use in my book. Would sure like to have more usable symbols in all categories related to the buildings rather than decoration or odd furnishings. But, everyone has their things they like. So, for now, I am glad I can create or grab other symbols via SketchUp.

Sure thing Chris. I just included the plan (DWG) and the SketchUp file in case anyone wanted to mess with it other ways. I find 3DS files work best when I am wanting textures and 3D objects to use for symbols. Others may use different formats for the 3D file they link to.
