I probably already know the answer to this question but here goes!

Has anyone figured out a way to embed a live Excel spreadsheet? I know I can create a table but I need the flexibility of an Excel spreadsheet that would update whenever I open the drawing.

Cheers!

Yes, you did know the answer didn't you? No I don't believe it's possible.

Good luck with your quest!

great thought.

let's get this one into the product suggestions. An embedded Excel spreadsheet would reduce so many issues and vastly streamline my workflow.

Why would it reduce issues? All you are doing is adding NONE drawn information, OR You're taking information OUT of Softplan, to create a spreadsheet, and then trying to put it back IN.

I don't understand why EXCEL is handy. I can see why some people may want it, But personally, as far as I'm concerned. If my Information is not in Softplan, then I don't need it to be on the drawing sheets. It would be better for me to have Softplans Tables behave more like a Spreadsheet, than the dumb grid that it is.

AND on that topic, I'd like to be able to CUSTOMIZE the HEADINGS on the Schedules. I have to re-write them every time ... and before you ask, I don't use CAPS for ANYTHING on my drawings EXCEPT to EMPHASIZE something important.

Keith, that's really what I'm getting at. The functionality of excel would be great.

I also want everything contained in SP but there are still many times that I have to use outside programs. As a deign/ build I have lots of unique types of information flowing in and out of my office & jobsite that a more robust table could help manage.

Also in coordination with Softlist, which is quite powerful but still has many areas of customization to be tapped into.
