When I convert my "Annotated" elevations into 2d elevations, some of the exterior finishes appear and others need to be added through "paint". The siding appears to be exploded into lines. If I want to change the finish at this stage from , lets say, horizontal siding to stucco or Board and Batton, I need to erase each line and then apply paint for the new material.

I would prefer that either the siding converts into "paint" or doesn't appear at all and then I can apply it myself.

Is there a way to do this?

They should be on a separate layer you can turn off.  Check at the bottom of the layer list.

What your most likely seeing in your generated elevations would be the siding "Profile" in the wall definition.

That is good information Jim. It will be helpful to remove the footing on an inground basement but when I uncheck Board and Batton siding, it doesn't show the vertical lines for the walls at all. Am I missing something?

If the lines on the saved elevation edit as lines, they were generated from the profile used in the wall definition and they are not paint. If you add paint to the annotated elevation, it will save as paint and can be edited as needed.

That said, the intent with annotated elevations is that you don't have to save them out as a static 2D elevation. Add notes and Paint directly to the annotated elevation and the elevation remains live to reflect any changes made beyond its initial creation.
