I know that 2016 is not campatible with 2014 but can I work in 2014 and backwardd save so that it can be opened in 2012?  Or does that not work either?

Second question would be is if anyone has a copy of 2012 that they are willing to sell?  I am need of that version to work on an old project that needs to stay in 2012.  I currently bounced over that version to 2014.

It's always the same principle. When you bring a drawing in a newer version, you can't go back to use it in an older version.

Is it because your using 2014 at one place and 2012 somewhere else? I'm not completely clear because if you have 2014 and bring in a plan from 2012, then it becomes a 2014 plan that you can work on in 2014. I might be missing the point.

Yes.  I currently have version 14 and version 2014.  Both on seperate computers.  However I have a builder client that works in 2012 and needs some help.  He wants to keep the files in the 2012 format so that he can view and open them.  So I need to find a way to open them in 2012.

Tom,

I don't think you have to buy anything.

If you still have your install disk for 2012 reinstall and it should work with your current key.

Steve.

Correct.  I have the books but somewhere (somehow) I lost the disk.  I think I found someone local here in Atlanta that I can borrow the install disk since, you are correct Steve, it will work once I install.  Or I might offer to have the builder client overnight it to me (I pay) and send it back the same after install.  A small price to pay for moving offices.
