Is there anywhere a person can find additional symbols of people to insert into 3D drawings? The selection in the symbols library is pretty generic and I would like more of a selection that is offered. 

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Check out SketchUp 3D Warehouse or other free online symbol libraries. You can import several 3D file formats and make symbols just as you would any other. The more complex, the more churning of the system. Sometimes billboard symbols are better.
