I have been using the "save a copy" function to create a backup of daily progress. I save the copy in a folder with a date in the name. I have used this method in other software and it has worked well for me. Toady I have my current working project open and also the same project from a week ago. So far so good. Only thing is that the project name at the top of the open instance of SP, the name is the same. Sometimes confusing about which file I'm in. How do other people deal with backups and using them with a current file?

Take a look at File-->Save Project Revision instead of Copy Project to... A numbered copy will be saved to the REVISION folder within your project. You can open the "Revision" projects from within that folder. If you want to replace your project with one of the Revision versions you can use File-->Recover-->Revision.

Bill,

Thanks for that tip. I can see its usefulness especially if you need to recover a project.
