I would like to look at the floor plan in 3d textured without zooming thru the roof, in other words the view would have the roof removed or transparent. How can I do this without deleting the roof?

You could also turn off all your roof material.

You can put your roof and ceilings and anything else that is in the way on a different building option. This way you can easily switch back and forth as desired.
