I've generated a cross section and saved a drawing of it. The line weights are too thick and the option for print pen - outline pen is greyed out. The texture pen is available to edit. I've looked all over for a system, project or drawing setting for the line thickness. Is there one and if so, where isit?

"Pen Setup" is in all 3 places.

I believe that it is set by the layer.  Unchecking Auto Scale Pen Width when it is placed on a Plan Set might give you what you are looking for too.

Henry,

Yes, pen setup is in all 3 places but which setting is it that controls this? it isn't in cross section details.

Jim,

Unchecking auto scale pen width works. This will do for now while I explore this further.

Thanks to you both for your help.

The pens are setup (in all three places) under pen setup. Check CROSS SECTON "X" ITEMS and CROSS SECTION ITEMS in GENERAL ITEMS Not CROSS SECTION DETAILS

Keith,

Okay, found it. Cross Section "X" Items were set to a thick pen width. Cross Section Items were set to the pen width I wanted which didn't work. Not sure what is an "X" Item and a regular Item. Still makes no sense to me that if I save as a drawing, that there are lines for which I cannot edit the pen width. Missing something fundamental here I think.

I believe that an "X" item is one that actually crosses your section plane.

You can edit any individual line that you like.

Kris,

Quick explanation ... You CANNOT change the pen thickness of ANYTHING on a layer that has a defined pen thickness.

Your options are:

Edit the defined pen thickness of the LAYER in the layer setup OR

Edit the item to be on a layer with a DEFAULT pen thickness, and then edit the pen size independently.
