SoftPlan 2022.

Currently, My process is to draw the main floor, then Auto Basement, create a site plan, using the building outline.

My company owns several building lots that we intend to build on.  We have surveys of each lot and how we need to grade the lots for proper drainage.

Is it possible to create the site plans with all the contours and elevations then put a house into that site plan?

Or does the house have to be drawn before the site plan?

This may not make much sense but we would like to see the lots with different houses on them so we can determine which house we are going to put on the site.

Short Answer: Yes.

Long Answer: Yes, you can create a site plan as you wish and use NEIGHBORHOOD to add individual homes into the relevant lots.

I typically draw site plans as a separate drawing from the building model. I like to have control over how the building sits in the site as I rarely have a flat site I am working with. Still lots of work to get contours and grading to look right. Sometimes it's the program, sometimes it's the survey data received. Most times it's not the fun part of the design process (for me).

I've tried to upload attachments as well as youtube link with no luck.  I do contoured site plans all the time...sometimes with info imported from google earth and sometime with info from surveyors.

Softplan has a great video on creating site plans.  Elevations can be imported from Google.

So here's a question for a guy who doesn't know much about site plans.  We've tried to create site plans by inputting the coordinates, but the site lines always end up going in the wrong direction, therefore the google earth import doesn't work too well.  Do the North Options in the system options have to be set correctly 1st?

Thanks,

Dan

If the site line goes in the wrong direction there is a reverse button to make it go the opposite way.  The N, S, E, W designation of the coordinates only refers to what direction the line will go in relation to where you clicked your mouse to start the line.
