Does anyone have a suggestion on how to hide solids or make non printable?

I use solids/ cubes a lot of times for accent trusses and banding when I can't get the symbols to play nicely. But I don't want them to print or clutter the drawing. Outside of putting them on another layer or building option and turning on and off to print, I wonder if there is another work around?  It would be great if there was a button to "hide" selected solids from printing.

I realize turning off visibility for solids is an option so they will not print, but would still like to see them (dashed line) on my screen.

I realise you almost said this, but just to clarify ... If you put them on a LAYER called HIDDEN (or whatever you call it) that layer can be permanently set to NO PRINT ... it then doesn't matter whether you turn it off or not.

I really don't see any other option.

I like that idea Keith. I'll give that a try.

Thank you!
