i am trying to build a new foundation wall 16"x8" footing with 3- courses of 8" block and 2-courses of 6" block to create a ledge for the concrete floor and i seam not

to be able to see the 6"line when in floor plan i am not sure if i am suppose to none or not

You won't see a line unless you take some special steps. Here is one way it can be done.

 

Go to the wall definition and click on the options tab at the top. Check display height and set it to such a height that it brings the green line in the section view up into the six inch block at the top. This is where the wall will display on the print.

Now we have the problem that the wall will only display the six inch block and not the 8 inch block. To get around this problem we can place an airspace against the inside of the six inch block. Add the airspace and set it to the right size. Click on the fill tab and check the texture visible box for the airspace. Select the desired texture pattern and turn on the shading and set it to the correct color if neccessary.

I thought of a faster way to do it that will save a few steps. Put the two inch airspace inside the eight" block.

Wendall, the easiest way to show a line in the wall definition is to use a 0.000" thick full height NONE material where you want to show the line.

That's a good idea Keith. Somehow I find the hard way of doing things.
