is there a way to make a wall that will do like a aluminum post and beam with 3" insulation in walls and aluminum panels on the interior and exterior and the roof is the same thing

i am trying to get a r 13 insulation in the walls and the roof

Here I used a custom wall with siding and aluminum. I made the glass out of casement windows. For the roof I offset 1" higher and showed framing and lowered my roof back down the inch, and made the roof a glass material.

I'm just running into a similar problem... for some reason I cannot get my roof to be transparent.  I can put a texture on it, but it doesn't come up transparent

You can adjust transparency by editing the surface.

That's what I have been trying is adjusting the "opacity" setting on the texture.  with no luck.  The same texture is used on the door as I used on the roof.  The opacity slider works for the door but no the roof.  I've tried multiple different textures with the same result.

It may be that the roof is transparent but the roof sheathing is not.
