We have a request to send timber framing drawings created in Softplan to timberframer to be imported into sketchup for creating shop drawings. 

Any suggested steps to accomplish this? DWG importable into Sketchup? We are not familiar with Sketchup.  Thanks

Sketchup can import DWG.  If you are a Softplan+ subscriber you export directly to Sketchup.  I do that quite often and have had no issues.
