Good Day,

I'm hoping my problem has a quick and simple answer.  The "Adjust Wall Surface to..." options are greyed out.  I can't check the little boxes.  I want to adjust the metal wall panel siding to go up to the soffit.

Thank you,

Can we see that wall in roof mode? Is the roof edge referencing the wall correctly? If not, the wall won't recognize the soffit.

If you edit the wall and click on the “Top of Wall” tab you have the option to fit to roof, fit to soffit and some other options that I can’t think of.

Normally, the options are only greyed out if the roof and/or the floor are not referenced properly. Adjusting the reference lollipops should correct this.

Good Morning,

Thanks, guys, for your suggestions.  I think I have the wall referenced correctly....   I tried adjusting the reference lollipops but it didn't seem to make any difference.

Here's a picture in roof mode.

Thanks,

Right side wall height , as referenced in attachment and viewed in rendered view, should be adjusted

to match others. Lollipop is referencing the taller wall

Steve & Carla,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I initially had that wall set to the same height as the other walls and used the "Fit to Roof" option for that gable end.  When I discovered the "Adjust wall surface..." issue, I went back and re-set the wall from a multi-height wall to the same height as the other walls.  Sadly, it did not fix the problem.  The box was still greyed out.

Thanks again,

Randy

To those interested in this thread,

According to Tech Support, you must be using an exterior material (siding type, brick, block, concrete, board & batten, etc.) in your wall definition in order for the "Fit to Soffit" option to be available.  I was using "Solid A" and "Solid B" as the materials for the metal panels on the exterior of my wall.  I had used all the siding types (A-E) in other wall definitions.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to suggest a solution!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas,

Randy

Why is a 17" heel a problem? Using parallel chord trusses we have that sort of heel regularly, and still FIT TO SOFFIT works fine.
