I am updating my desktop and wanted to copy my current system options over. Is this possible?

When I switched to a new computer, I copied over my entire SoftPlan folder. I then downloaded the install from the website and upon installation I got the option to point it to my folders. I don't know if this is the official way to do it, but it did the job. I noticed a few changes on a project I had already started, but my new project seems to be just like it was over on the other machine.

Yes. Do a backup of everything you want in the >system options >archive and then make your choices. Save your backup to an easy to remember place. Once you have Softplan installed on your new setup go to the same system option and choose 'restore'. You will be asked where to look for what to restore. Restart everything and you should be good to go!

If you have Plan set templates, you may have to copy them from the old installation. I don't believe they save automatically.
