Is it possible to reverse a wall's drawn direction after drawing it? I think that the fact that the 2 walls are drawn in a different direction is what is making the seam down the middle noticeable. I would like to draw the right side wall of this duplex left to right but when I do that it forces the brick inside with no option to flip it? I know that you are going to ask why not run the wall all the way thru but I have a fire wall running down the middle basically separating the 2 walls with only the finish materials butting.

Thank you,

Don't think so.

If you draw a new wall, away from the plan, flip it to the orientation that you require, and then re-position it, that should work.

The walls look like they are at different heights (based on the texture levels), or it that just an optical illusion.

You should be able to draw a single wall and then use TOOLS > ADJUST WALL MATERIAL > BUTT to bring the firewall into the front wall - but I haven't tried it, and am not at a Softplan machine.

Thanks Keith,

As a newer user I thought you could only use the ADJUST MATERIAL - BUTT command if walls were intersecting in some fashion. I did not realize that you could carry a wall thru and then butt an intersecting wall into the thru wall.

one - you should be able to draw the wall left to right and then down to make the brick appear on that side.

try starting the wall just a little bit away from the adjacent wall that is already drawn.

You will have to do some adjusting to get them to plane out with each other though.

two - after a wall is drawn, just edit the wall and change the degrees that the wall is drawn at, and double check the display of the exterior surface.

example, if you wall is drawn at 90.0 degrees, then edit your wall and change it to 270.0 degrees.

That should change the direction of the wall. It may put your brick on the opposite side, but that is where you just modify the display of exterior side, by selecting the proper direction.

You will also have to adjust the wall to get it to plane out with the adjacent wall.

three- if you are concerned about 3D, then offsets and wall heights impact the view tremendously.

You may have to draw one wall just for your 3D view in order to get it to look proper, then go back to the two walls for your plan.

You can do this in a variety of ways, but I like to use building options to do this, because when you turn one option on and the other off,

it also disappears in 3D mode.

Must admit, I forgot about changing the angle of the wall ... just didn't enter my brain. Was stuck in a left-right/up-down track.
