I must something turned off. I can't seem to get the spindles to appear on stairs or decks.

Did you look at 'visible items" (F9)?

Or use a railing assembly that does not have spindles?

I've had this happen to me as well - not sure why, but it is typically either turned off in visible items, or not selected in the railing setup/definitions.

I've had spindles do this a lot, and had to edit and add them and stuff, I always forget about cleanup, that helps sometime, My thinking there is a little bug on spindle and probably will go with 2024

I think spindles got change with 2020, had new edits,     The new stairs on 2024 look like a great change,

I believe that spindles are turned off for handrails that are up against a wall, even if just a portion of the railing is against the wall. You would need to add them in by editing the railing and selecting spindles.

Bill - that's exactly what I've experienced also. Took some head-scratching and a "duh" moment!
