Hey, is there a way to have the stair show up on the drawing it is not located on? I've just been manually drawing it in with lines. Thanks

I just use the clipboard to copy and paste the stair into the target drawing and then explode the stairs. Make sure you use "hold position" so they are in the exact same place as the original stairs. Then you can cut and change any of the lines that you need to.

Not sure what you want to do Daren - Can you be a little more specific?

If you want the stair on plan but not in the model, you can uncheck EXTRACT IN MODEL on the COMMON tab. If you just want to view the location, you can use OVERLAY.

I with you Daren. I hate that you can't see the stair that you want on the floor plan that you want. I wish that when using the overlay option we had the ability to cut off and on what objects we want visible and to determine whether they stay their original color and line type. This would be similar to the extraction option when in 3d where you get to decide what you want to view and what not. I guess one of my big issues with SoftPlan as a new user is where Paul Gsell said to copy it and then explode it. It seems like I'm having to do a lot of stuff twice to get things done and as a cad user. If you figure out a way to get it done please let me know!

read up on "layers" and "building options"

along with what others have said on the above replies.

a few ways to do things in softplan depending on what you need to show

and when to show it.
