Is there a way to draw sleeper ( AKA valley plate, shoe) for rafters to land on when drawing an overframe roof?  When I add a roof on top of another, a valley rafter is drawn at the intersection but it is hard to edit into the shape that makes it clear it is a sleeper the way you would place it on top of the plywood of another roof below.

I'd love to be able to draw it with bevels etc the way it is shown in the video at youtu.be/8elNffTYq40

Todd I believe the Valley plate shows by default when using auto stick frame. Try auto stick framing, exploding the framing

and deleting any unwanted framing members, leaving the Valley plate in place. Steve

You would need to draw the roofs as separate roofs and do not cut out a hole. Then when you Auto Stick Frame the plates will automatically be placed.

They do but the valley rafters extend through the valley plate. Does anyone know how to fix this?

If you have "auto stick framed" as mentioned above,  all of you rafters should be in red - which means they can be edited individually.

Adjust your "blind plate" size to fit your Plancher cut/aka the bevel cut of the rafter.

Adjust the length of your rafters 1 at a time.  This works as I have done it multiple times for a clean drawing.

Softplan - this is a wish list item to have done automatically.
