I hope all had a great weekend.

When I create a plan set, my elevations are 2d, even the front elevation on my cover page.

I have played around with different 3d views to create a better front elevation in a perspective and

have not had much luck. A client asked me if I could create a better looking front elevation

for marketing. The only software I have for that is SoftPlan. This is new to me, so I am looking

for the easiest way. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Doug

What version of SP are you using?

Save a view of the model, and drag it onto the planset. You can edit its 3D attributes directly in the planset view itself.

And just for starters I always create a site plan, add contours, sidewalks, landscaping, etc (I do use Lumion for many of my renderings so I use their models). Import the textures you want (SP or other).  Adjust the sun angle by time of day - or not.  Play around with your camera angle until you get the view you want and then save it as "Render to File" .  I use 2048 x 1536 .  This is the image you use on your Plan Set.  When you export your Plan Set do NOT optimize for file size or you will lose the higher resolution of your renderings.  I'm attaching a few samples just to give you idea of camera angle.

Why RENDER TO FILE? Why not just put the view file directly on the planset?

I was never able to get the high resolution that I wanted with the view file.  Maybe I was doing something wrong.  Anyway, with the new 2024 feature of auto updating images it makes it a lot easier to use the high resolution jpeg image????  Not not much different then using the view file for time spent.  Finally, the jpeg image is a lot easier to share for other uses.

My apologizes for the delay in responding.

Hey Fred. I use version 2018 and only have SoftPlan for renderings.

Hey to Keith as well. I'll try what you mentioned. Not certain how to do the drag into the plan set,

but will give it my best.

Thank you all for helping me out.

Doug

You might also look into exporting the SP 3D model in a Sketchup format and then import into Twinmotion.  Once in Twinmotion, the possibilities are near Photo realistic and a big plus Twinmotion is free....look into a few YouTube vids and experiment....very easy and with practice....very nice renderings....Softplan has come a long way but the 3D is nowhere near the quality of a program specifically designed to do high-quality renderings yet, SP is still a very good place to work from and simply can not be equaled in the area of developing construction plan sets...

If you post some pictures of your current elevations and describe what you are trying to achieve,  you might get some good suggestions on how to improve them within SoftPlan.

I just grabbed a plan. I think that all I want is shading with detail, and a left or right

perspective, what ever looks the best. Keep in mind, this is my first attempt.

Have a great weekend.

It looks like you saved a line drawing from a visible line front elevation.  From your Navigation on the left hand side expand the elevations area.  Expand the Views.  Click on Front View.

Then In the ribbon bar at the top right hand side, move from Visible Line to Shaded Mode or Textured Mode which should add shading or textures to your model.

In the tutorial videos (LHS) there is a whole set of videos related to 3D and 3D rendering.
