Draw the main roof as a 2:12 shed roof over the entire structure, and then add the false gable. That should work.

the ridge line is normally horizontal

in this construction the ridge line should be sloped

from the front of the dormer or false gable to the end and intersection to the main roof

like a exposed crocodile's eye

Now I don't understand .... Do you mean Ridge or fascia, as you drew ...

.... like a exposed crocodile's eye

Even more confused ...

I thought you mean't like this.

Hi Keith,

sorry for confusing you

yes i have this roof shape

and if the front of the dormer/gable (facia/soffit) could be

higher erected for bigger triangle windows that would be nice

but in your 3D image i can't see that the ridge line is sloped

it should look like a triangle dormer on top of a flat main roof

here is a picture of a similar but rounded dormer, that's not what i want

but the top line goes down to the main roof

Ahh, now I understand ...

However, like Yvon, I do not know of a way that can be achieved.

If it can be done at all, then Randy is probably the best bet. He's a genius with profiles.

Angle the beams to decrease the roof span. I did this in 2014 but works as well in 2016.

Regards,

Ben

Very clever and creative Ben. A solution like that never crossed my mind.
