OK probably an idiot question, but what is the best strategy for handling upper and lower windows on the same wall? The attached 3D shows the look, but the floor plan shows the upper and lower windows both showing. Should this be done as an upper floor plan wall and a lower floor plan wall?

I pull the window size notes out so its obvious there are multiple windows stacked.

What I'm trying to correct is seeing both the upper and lower windows overlaid on the wall. Any thoughts?

I put my upper windows on a their own layer and then turn off visibility of that layer. Then I add a note for the upper window that is hidden.

Layers! Of course! That's why I said this was an idiot question. I use layers all the time and this never occurred to me. Thanks Dennis!!

That just shows the windows dashed - doesn't really clean up the drawing.

I usually add them on a new layer to completely remove them from the floor plan and if you need to show them on a separate plan, you could always create a new drawing with Overlay and have the alternate layer turned on to show any areas of the house with clerestory or high windows. I think for most examples I've seen is that there is either a hidden line indicating the window is above as Keith explained or a note with them removed on a separate layer since your elevations will give clarity that there are windows above the lower opening. I am keen on keeping my drawings as visibly clear as possible, so these are things I constantly run into and I'm glad SoftPlan has multiple solutions to fit what works best for each project.

That's a good solution - I want the plan drawing clean, and can easily add the window note in text. The elevations will show the head height, etc.
