Hi there, HiveMind!
I've been using softplan for about a month and a half now, and the thing that I struggle with the most in the program is roofing. Specifically for my instance, something I've run into a few times already is trying to show a roof where a higher section of roof with one pitch ties into a lower section of roof whose pitch has been adjusted to meet the upper. You'll see in the attached image how I need to upper gable to remain centered on the high wall as it's pictured while filling the gap with a vertical gable of a lower pitch that ties in and intersects with the perpendicular roof. I've been able to make that vertical gable as a separate roof and get it "close enough" in the 3D view, but it never looks good enough that I'd want to show the client, as the two roofs are always visually fighting with each other (fascia showing through, gable ends overlapping, etc). I've also tried setting the intersecting edge as a double hip and making the roof cover both sections with the multiple floor roof option, but that causes the gable end to then be centered over the entire length of the roof rather than just the upper portion. Can anyone tell me if there's something that I'm missing that will help me tie in this roof appropriately? Thanks!
