I want to draw walls in my floor plan without showing lines for the sheathing, siding, or trim boards.  Is there a way to extract those items just in the 3d model so they don't show up on the floor plan?

In your wall definition, if you uncheck the Inside and Outside Visible as well as Texture Visible (if applicable), the items you do this for wont display on your floor plan but are still active. A bit like a layer works. If you turn a layer off, it won't show on your plan but is still visible in 3D or if you generate a section.
