Draw what you want as a profile on screen.

Go to SYSTEM OPTIONS > SYSTEM LIBRARY. Change Library Type to PROFILES - Go to LOG CLICK + Go to HALF LOG. Click ONE STEP and marquee select to profile you drew on the screen.

Hi - I saw this thread and it relates to a dilemma I am having right now.   I am currently working on a log home.  However, I want for half of the house to have stud walls with 4" half-log siding.  When I try to create a wall type for this, I cannot find a 4" thick log.  I can see from the profile many options to pick from.  I am wondering how to create my own profile.  I have searched for the various log profiles in symbols and details, etc to no avail.  How do I access the existing log profiles so I can create my own?

Sorry, I tried to post a model. No luck.

This is a rendering which, apparently, was developed using Logmaker software and ArchiCAD.

I particularly like the realistic log ends. The cost of Logmaker along with ArchiCAD is ridiculously too expensive with the two being well over $10,000.00. No software is worth thst these days, what with the need for constant upgrades to machines and software.

I had heard SoftPlan might be able to replicate this type of model. I will check the gallery for sure. Thanks to all who posted!

Thomas that looks great! I am always excited to see others work. No shame in showing off! I think it only serves to help show what the program can do.

Thanks for sharing.

I remember that design of Brian's when it first showed up in the photo gallery. Really beautiful work.

Love the way Brian modeled the log posts to look far more authentic as imperfect peeled logs, rather than perfect wood cylinders... adds a lot to the look.. that's a nice tip showing a small detail that adds a lot, and easy enough to grab something off the google warehouse I suppose...

SoftPlan has some great tools for log style homes...

log walls where the ends extend... log beams.. log rafters if you want...

eh, I guess I'll use this thread as an opportunity to shamelessly show off some recent work, as it has all of that...

You having trouble relaxing on vacation Randy?

Max. You can probably find some fantastic renderings in the Archive of this forum. However, they are not searchable so you will have to dig a little. The Forum itself has been updated recently, and there is only limited content except for the archives.
