Awesome!  This has totally stumped me and now I get it.  Thank you, thank you!

The items are in fact grouped, however, there is no indication. If you move separate items they will move in relation to the group, not with it. To move the group, you have to specifically select GROUP on the move toolbar, then moving any individual item will move the whole group it's associated with. GROUP works much differently than it does in AutoCad.

I'm on version 2014 but don't think that makes a difference. Grouping objects is use to move multiple objects at the same time so you don't see anything happening on the screen. Also, sometimes, it doesn't work the first time and you have to make sure to be outside of the objects far enough. Then, when you want to move the group, you have to select the group tab in move before moving the objects.

I am trying to use the group command for some simple drawn objects. I'm a new user, so when I followed the instructions in the manual for how to group objects, nothing happens.

I select "group box" in the "tools" tab, click to create a box around the item and then click to close the box and nothings happens

I feel like I must be missing something obvious, but can't figure out what it is.  Can anyone help, this is on Version 2016?

Thanks,

Jill
