Stick with the Nvidia graphics cards I have an AMD in my Dell and it's never performed as good as the Nvidia cards do.  My buddy just bought an ASUS ROG with a solid state hard drive for the OS and he's really happy with it.  There is a couple more posts on this, search the forum and you'll find some good info.  Here's a great post:

We use TOSHIBA QOSMIO laptops - i7 processors, 12GB RAM and Nvidia GTX670M graphics

I am running a GTX 970 and it is pretty cool. Using three monitors as well.

btw,  i received a dell 8500 XPS desktop as a gift from a client. about 1.5 years ago and it's been

a very reliable and fast computer (fast enough for 3 and i do a lot of 3d work.)

many have had real good luck with the

NVidia-GeForce - GT good /  gtX 600 series or higher.

i have the GT 640 and it's pretty good with softview.

running with i7 and 8 gb of ram.

you'd probably be better off with the gtX 600 or higher series but

have never tried the gtX so have no idea how much better they are.

if money is a concern > go with the GT and you'll be ok..

if money is of little  CONCERN > go with the gtX and from what i hear

you'll love it.

you should be hearing from those who know more than i do about

the cards.

The recent generations of  i5 or i7, or AMD equivalent processors will handle what they need to handle, .. I opted for the i7 just because.

The more RAM the better, .. but that's always been the case forever.

the main thing is graphics, .. make sure you've got a moderate to sort of high end gaming card, .. Softplan is designed to take advantage of these cards.
