I've had this problem as well. Neither of these above responses help me because I have no "all items" available to check.

Normally, there are two infinitely long lines following the cursor, one is vertical and one is horizontal, and I have a completely white background, and I normally can easily see these two lines without any issues. I cant remember what color it is, (black or dark pink)  but randomly, they "almost" disappear, and I say "almost" because I can faintly see them if I squint, but its as if they are one shade above white which is practically invisible.

So, my question is the same, why do they almost completely disappear, and how can we get them back?

not sure this will help but in

system options / system option / cursor options

you can change the sizes of the small and large cursor

by default, the small cursor size is 1 and the large is 5.

as gary suggests, it might be the colors you have for your background too close

to the cursor color.

to check on the cursor color,  go to system options / system options / assign color / check "all items"

and look for the cursor color

you can change the background color at the bottom of the assign colors,

That doesn't sound like a Softplan setting which only controls the size of the cursor. Background color?

The ~ key (to the left of the 1, above Tab) toggles the cursor mode.

At various times, the vertical and horizontal lines of the cursor are barely visible. how can i control this? I need to see them.
