Is anyone using a 'out of the box' database solution to track your old projects?  Or any other methods worth sharing?

At the moment I'm keeping track of my new construction projects on an excel sheet.  I'm thinking I need to upgrade to a database of some sort so I can enter a lot of info for each project to help me locate plans down the road.

(accidentally posted this to the guest board initially)
