Hello,

I am working on a foundation and it has piers. However, I do not see a pier that is anywhere other then the posts sections. I do not know how to get rid of the post. Is there anyway to get just the pier? Thank you for your time.

I use in the structural posts "Post: Round Concrete Pier". You can then select to have a footing or not.

Okay, but how do I get just the pier and not the post?

Maybe I'm not quite understanding. This is what I have. If you don't have it you can just create one using a circular post. Or is it something else?

It is something else. I know how how to get the post and pier to show. My current issue is I do not want the post. I just want the pier. Is there anyway to remove the post from the pier?

I guess that what you refer to is that you just want the footing? Can't quite do it but just select the square shape for the post and remove the footing, you can size the post as your footing. The only thing is that it wont be dotted on the plan. Hope that helps?

if this is what your trying to achieve

for 2d and 3d purposes,

you can also use a / solid / 3d polygon for the grade beam.

draw the grade beam so you can have a hole in it and than

you can edit the dimensions and adjust it to be the fnal

shape you need to support your structure.

use a solid / cylinder for the piers.

if you need a post, you can use one of the predone 3d post with footing

or

draw a wood post or draw a solid / cube

if you need a stepped grade beam, you can still draw it with the solid polygons

or you could use a stepped wall with footing.

i don't use softlist so not sure what's best to use in that case.

you could probably use the same solids as i mention and program

them in to softlist. ????

other ways to do stepped walls.

note the pony walls on the far right.

(one single with a 4' high conc base which acts as the foundation

and the 3 walls to the left of it with the bottoms at same height/offset

but the one on the right of the 3 is a 4' wall and the 2 on the left

are 2' conc with their tops stepped - remember that each of them

is one pony wall.

they have their place for stepped foundations.

these have a concrete foundation as part of the wall.

one with "fixed" 2' of concrete at the base

and one with "fixed 4' of concrete at the base.

to get these walls,  edit a regular wall such as a stucco wall,

than edit the wall

than click "definition at the lower left side on the edit window,

click "SAVE AS"  and give the wall a name such as

PONY - 2x6 stucco and proceed in ADD MATERIAL > concrete

and edit the offsets as needed .

REMEMBER to check > FIX on the concrete so it's HEIGHT stays the same as you dimensioned it

when you edit the total height of the wall.

the stud part with the stucco (or whatever type of wall it is will make up the difference between the fixed height

of the concrete and the total height of the wall.

I'd use Post - structural- 3 course block pier.    You can change the width and depth, or height to get what you need

  1. you can get rid of the post by setting the height at "0"     I think, then you have just the pad or footer,
