I will spend a great deal of time getting my complicated roof in place and it looks great.

when I'm done for the day I will save all.

Come back the next day, open my project and I have sections of roof floating 12' or more above the plate line. Doing a clean up does not snap the roofs in place.

This happens to many times and for the life of me I can not figure out what I am doing to cause this.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Does anyone have an idea what causes this and how I can fix it?

By the way I am still using 2020, been thinking of getting 2022.

Thankks

I've only been using SP for 3 months so I thought it was me..... every time I look at a drawing and think I'm finished! I'll just pretty it up a touch..... it looses it mind and I have to spend hours getting it back to where it was. One thing that support informed me of .... that I question ... is that unchecking the visibility of the default building option and rechecking it causes walls to separate their joins causes roofs to lose their reference points and anything else for that matter. Especially destructive is to run clean-up after joins seperate! I would have thought it would rejoin them. As part of my completion of a drawing I would turn off all layers and building options and look at them individually to look for oddities.

Yes.  I have never had anyone ask for more rug or candle stick choices, but everyone wants complex roofs.   I use SP2022+.  Gaming PC , required graphic card, Direct X 12...all the bells and whistles.  This is one of the items I mentioned yesterday.

Only program I have ever used and really enjoy the results.  But the time it takes to get the model to hold together long enough for a 3D presentation is sometimes off the charts.  When it gets to 2D plan sets its a coast to the finish line.

Been using SoftPlan since 2014 version. Now on 2020 Version and still consider myself a newbie. Wish I had formal training by a knowledgeable trainer. The videos are helpful but incomplete and "Help" is sometimes useless.

One thing that drives me nuts are the random things you describe that come out of nowhere. Have spent hours tracking down the problem even after saving and locking the project when everything worked fine, including 3D. I eventually find it but with no explanation for why a wall suddenly extends into infinity or why a wall definition shows up in 3D and cannot be removed. Stopped asking SoftPlan for help. Shoulder shrugs don't ease my ranting mind.

Grant, I have found that in Drawing Mode some walls go haywire for no reason. It appears that the wall that extends into infinity is just such a haywire wall. I have eliminated those walls and redraw. You may have to dig through modes or layers to find the offending entity. Usually solves the problem until next random event.
