Hello,
I am working through integrating softlist into the design process, so i am having to detail the model much more than I have previously. I design many 1-1/2 and 2-1/2 story homes, and this has led to an issue with floor system/ ceiling framing quantities. Many times, the 1/2 story of the home does not align with lower floor walls, so the floor system for the 1/2 floor and the ceiling framing for the floor below overlap. this causes overlap in quantities/length of boards when softlist calculates take-offs. I wouldn't worry about this before because I wasn't using softlist to perform take-offs and the 3D model still modeled correctly.
With this being said, how do you all handle the floor system / ceiling framing when this situation arises? Should I design the ceilings for the lower floor using (2x10s or 2x12s) and only draw the subfloor for 1/2 story floor? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Taylor
