truss mod

You can't do it with standard trusses. The bottom of the truss follows the ceiling, and as far as I'm aware, you can't curve the ceiling. You would have to custom design a truss to suit, make it a symbol and space it accordingly.

Sorry, Yvon, of course you're right. I was thinking more of a simple arc rather than a compound elliptical curve. Can you actually define a perfect curve?
If so, the trusses SHOULD follow the ceiling. That's the general principle. Haven't got time to test it now.

Impressive, It works quite well.
Not sure about your gable Matt. Can you post a picture of your situation? So we can try to fix it!

Never added an attachment here before. Hopefully it works. I can get the ceiling and the trusses to arch but now I can't get my siding to follow along with it. I moved a truss out so that you can see what Im talking about. The siding on the gable stays flat. Maybe I need to walk away for a bit

Matt
You can select the roof and uncheck the "gable end provided by roof". Then draw a new wall on the floor plan under the gable end area. Offset the wall of the new wall created new the height of the bottom of the curve opening you want drawn. Place a Opening on the new wall created and place a "blank" opening in the center of the wall. Adjust the arch to the size you need. Then select the new wall and fit the wall to the underside of the roof.
Hope this helps you out.

I have a deeper question. How are you going to get a truss actually built like that? I've seen ceilings done like that here but they were built with a scissor truss and then the arch is stick framed inside afterwards. I suppose a really creative truss guy could figure that out but the engineering would be crazy!!!
