Gable End Problem

Can anybody tell me why the gable ends sometimes stick out beyond the top plates.

need a bit information or a picture of it but first thought would be your floors are not stacking correctly or you are using a wall with a veneer (brick) that is listed as bearing.

Often, it relates to the overhang setting and to which material your overhang is based on. In the case of a false gable, it's a bit more complex because the false gable attaches itself to the main roof overhang and the actual overhang for the false gable is based on the overhang set in your "Roof Options".

Hello : I found the problem.  I was trying to put a roof on a extended porch and resting the trusses on beams. The beams did not line up correct and after correcting the line up. problem solved.  Thanks again.
