I previously used AutoCAD to layout Site Plans and then import into Softplan.

The import came with the AutoCAD angles formatted degrees minutes seconds. (as text)

I no longer have AutoCAD for use and Softplan records angles in Decimal Degrees, .. which I don't want

Where can I change my Softplan system to display angles as degrees minutes seconds?

..or, .. am I out of luck??

Hi Douglas,

Not sure what you're looking for here. When I go to System Options>North options I see that its set up for degrees, minutes, seconds. or perhaps I'm missing the gist of your question.

Well ... there must be someway, because my site plans show Degrees, minutes and seconds. However, I've no Idea where it is changed.

Shapes are displayed in decimal degrees.  Only Site Lines are shown in "degree-minutes-seconds".  While in Site Mode, under the tools menu, you have to use the "Convert Shape to Site Line".  Select which type of line you want and then just click on the line to change.

Thanks James, ..

.. but I think I've missed 'something', ..

Site Mode, .. change shape(s) to Site Line, .. but I still get decimal degrees, ..

Doug,

I think SoftPlan will only show the "dimension angle" as decimal degrees and you don't have the option to use custom text as you do with a standard dimension.  I guess you could draw arc (S-C) then add text after converting decimal to degree-minutes-seconds.  There are conversion calculators online.  Not very efficient though.  I personally don't remember ever seeing angle dimensions on a site plan.  Just bearings and lengths.

I agree, with James. I don't think I've ever seen angles either. I thought that you meant that the bearings were in Decimal Degrees.

Thanks for the responses, ..

My intent was to verify the angles as correct with degrees minutes seconds without having to convert the decimal equivalents.
