How does everyone deal with odd shape kitchen islands with regards to a counter top overhang (sitting area)?  There doesn't seem to be a free form button for counter tops just a normal left, right rear or front adjustment to overhang.  No way to do any angled cuts or curved top.  At least I don't see it in this update

I use the Draw>Cabinets>Countertop and draw the shape. After I adjust the edges with Deflection to create curves

I did that but I get that seam line where the counter meets the cabinet.  Would like to see it as one big shape (though in real life there will be a seam in the granite  :P )

You can get it as one big shape if you draw the entire counter as one-piece (meaning going over the cabinet) and setting the cabinet itself on a hidden layer if you don't want it to appear.

you'll have to draw a separate cabinet "COUNTERTOP" (in the menu)

and draw it with straight lines for each curved edge (or straight edges)

and than if you need curved edges, edit each edge and give that edge

a "deflection"  . /  a little trial and error.

i get rid of the counters that come with the base cabinets.

you do that in the "countertop" tab when editing the cabinet.

note: cooktops cut the counter.  same with sinks.

you can also edit the "edge" and give it a profile

profile edges work fine on straight edges,  not as clean on curved edges.

note: you can create you own custom edge as you can create

many custom profiles for many components on the building.jpg freeform kit island.JPG
