How do you fix the upper soffit and fascia board on this shed roof?  The upper soffit will not follow the overhang and the wall will not fill to the soffit.  ... see photos

Also, the fascia boards do not meet correctly.  The side fascia is 5.5" and the top fascia is 5.8" that makes it close, but it still does not look correct.

One of the short-comings of the program. You can draw a profile over the top or try using a ceiling that is sloped and cut to fit as soffit. Then adjust the height offset so it acts such as a real soffit would (not flush with the bottom of a fascia).

1.  Draw walls.

2.  Size wall heights to desired pitch.  Roof will auto pitch to walls.

3.  Draw shed roof on lowest wall.  Adjust all overhang projections.  Adjust seat cut/heel height.

4.  (edit roof edges)  remove " gable end provided by roof"

5.  On the upper portion of roof - edit edge of roof - change edge to "gable".  Again remove gable siding provided by roof.

6.  Adjust overhang.

7.  Change all roof edges to:  Fascia/soffit to rake instead of plumb.  Change all returns to plain gable corners.

8.  Cleanup button.

PM me if you want a bit more explaining.

Bob.

That is where the shortcoming is - you can't have a plumb fascia on a shed roof without something being a little goofy.

In constucting the corner with the plumb facia you will have imperfect joint. Just the way it is.

Great help!

Mark ... Thank you for your help.

Bob ... Thank you for your example.

Larry ... you are right about the plumb fascia will have an imperfect joint.

Most of the time the upper & lower fascia will be a plumb cut, so it will have to be imperfect or close enough to make it look good in a video or photo.

Even in real life, if you have a 2" x 6" plumb fascia, and a 2" x 6" cut on an angle on the gable, it's not possible to make them line up without some finessing.

In real life you can set the elevation, bevel, cut, size, offset, and every other aspect of the fascia. So, it would look exactly as you want (in real life).
