Is anyone running Softplan on a new AMD processor? If so are you having any problems and how did you fix it? I have a new AMD processor and motherboard but the Sentinel Key will not work on it. After a month working with Sentinel support They are now saying the key drivers are not compatible with this processor and if i can replace it with an Intel processor.

It is odd that this is the first time I've seen this come up.  But if true it is a real downer.

But it's believable, on my newish intel computer I MUST run windows 10.  Nothing earlier.  Supposedly there are a few instructions in the chip that win7,8 choke on.

I wish I had seen this thread earlier.  I just built a new computer with a Ryzen 3800x 8 core and the computer can't see the key.  Did anyone come up with a solution for this?  Getting worried since I have $1600 in this build!

Did you try downloading the key driver from Softplan?

Also you might run the driver exe file as the administrator. Right click on the driver file and left click on Run as Administrator.

Run Windows update and install all of the updates, then try it again. Do you have another key to try? Or try that key on a laptop if you have one, or your old computer.

I have tried all usb ports.  I am sure the ports are okay because other devices will work when I plug them in.  I have installed all Windows updates and tried many different chipset drivers to no avail. I will try running the file as an administrator and see if that works.

Try uninstalling the driver reboot, then run it again as the administrator.

Mine is running 7.6.5 driver. Is that the same as the 7.7?

I reached out to Thomas.  He said after months of trying things they sent him a new key and that fixed his problems.  I have created a ticket with Softplan and will call them first thing Monday morning to discuss this issue.  Thanks for all the help and I will report back what happens going forward.
