I chose to get SoftTalk instead of SoftList when I purchased SoftPlan. (Wrong decision as I have never been able to get SoftTalk to work consistantly) Now I'm considering purchasing SoftList with the primary goal of doing lumber take-offs. My question is how long is the learning curve to get a feel for the accuracy of the lumber list. I know it will be based on how I draw the house, but being an old retired framer I already am drawing the house pretty much as it will be framed anyway. I know there are no black and white answers to the questions. Just wanting to get some general feedback and/or opinions. Thanks All!

I like softlist. It gives me better takeoffs than I can get from any lumber yard.
Softtalk on the other hand is a complete disappointment. I have gotten that module to work for about 20 minutes and was excited to think I could use SoftPlan using voice commands… then it went away… like I had woken from a dream and discovered it was not real.
