I am guessing this is just something am missing but why is the drywall not cleaning up when I edit the exterior to "fit to soffit"

It is also poking through the roof on the top left.

I am also wondering how have the shed dormer wall clean up to the roof.

Any help here would be appreciated.

fit the sheetrock wall "to roof" that will solve that visually. as far as the exterior dormer wall, I usually just have to adjust the corners in 3D to make it look right.

your shed dormer issue:  i run a hidden wall in that area so the bottom pitches with my celling.

your drywall issue is easier.....i think as stated by Jon walls possibly not finding your roof...not sure why.  Check your wall definition, make sure drywall 'fixed' is NOT checked...i think this might be it.

Is your drywall on the same level as the roof? If not, it won't find it!

Thanks for the dormer solution. That makes sense but I would have thought SP would have made that more straight forward by now but, I am new to this so maybe it is just the learning curve.

As far as the drywall I did find when I edited the wall on the top of wall tab, "Clip to roof". That worked, I was in the wall tab, under "Adjust Wall Surface to:" and using "Fit to Soffit".

I have it now. I think I can work my way through the other issues.

This is good for the brain, I think  ;)

Hey Joseph, your 3ds look great. What settings are you using to get this look. When I go to illustrated it looks horrible. Very grainy and not bright and crisp like your drawings. Would you be willing to share your settings? ( I understand if you don't so feel obligated :)

Joseph has shared his setup before. If you go into his previous posts you will find it- not sure but 1- 1 1/2 years ago?

With ver. 2022 directx 12 you can not achieve the same results as directx 11 sad to say....it looks terrible in DX12.

Maybe this will help you Chris:

Thanks Joe,

What a difference. This should be SP default mode. It is very generous of you to share this an all of your ( and other's on this forms) expertise. I would have given up on this a long time ago with out it.

I have been designing homes for a very long time and was happiest in pencil on the board because I never want a program to dictate my creativity. I have been using SP as a line based program to draw pretty much like I would on the board for at least 20 years,(2D) but I am hopeful, with time I can accomplish the product I am looking for and not take so much time that I can't make a living out of it.

Thanks again.

As your work becomes repetitive you'll find flaws then work arounds then ways to speed up your process and make your work shine.

Welcome to SP Chris!!
