I recently had a client comment about what I was charging for custom house plans. He had a house built back in the 80's and was surprised how much prices have gone up since then.

 

So, I did a little research, and I came across this site and thought it might be useful information for some on here:

I'm definitely on the higher end of that spectrum.  Just did a large custom that was a rush job...hurrying to get started on a site in the mountains before we have snow hit here in a few months.  $9500 bucks....start to finish in one week

Your client is in for a shock when he gets the cost to build…

 

Especially if he’s comparing to 40 years ago.

He is way ahead of you on that…. Yes, this is a post he put up. What is strange is the house is over 900 sf… on each floor… and it has an attached 3 car garage. lol
